Help your friends and neighbors be informed about upcoming issues and opportunities we face together.

You've already taken the first step. You found our website and, hopefully by now, you read a lot of the information and views we've posted.

Here are some suggestions of how you can pass on the information about our fairly new grassroots organization to others:

The best way to help us spread the word about the organization to friends, relatives and neighbors is always the in-person, face-to-face way. In your conversations with others about town issues and concerns, it is very easy to remember the name of our organization. Just say, "check out WeLoveMillburn.com" and they will have no trouble remembering our name, spelling it and looking us up on the web.

Another way you can help spread the word is to copy the little note below or cut and paste it into your own personal email you send out. Add a personal touch of your own by all means and send it to as many town residents as you have in your email address directory. This is not spam but peer-to-peer recommendations of a valuable helpful website you want them to visit too.

Proposed text for your email but by all means change it, edit, add a more personal touch of your own:

"I recently discovered a new organization in town that is helping to inform us all of town issues and hopefully opportunities too in the future. This is a grassroots activism group that is made up of many of our own friends and neighbors. Their name and web address is WeLoveMillburn.com. Their rallying cry at this point is: We deserve town, school and tax options. They are already covering a lot of issues in town that I am learning about and concerned about. Their biggest issue until December is the proposed $40 million new school bond referendum. They have research and demographic studies posted on the website that questions the need for spending that much. They go on to say that if the referendum is in fact defeated the Board of Education has not proposed any backup plan at all. I have signed (I am considering signing) the petition at WeLoveMillburn.com because it asks the Board to present alternatives to the community that are both lower cost and educationally equal (or better) to the currently proposed plan. It is my opinion that the Board of Education has not seriously analyzed or considered alternatives. Even if you don't sign the petition, do sign up for their informational newsletter. Thanks for letting me share the information on this new activism group with you. Let me know what you decide to do if you would."

Here's another possible way to help us spread the word. If you belong to town organizations or school organization and have an ongoing way of communicating news, like a newsletter, include our address (our URL www.WeLoveMillburn.com) in that communication.

If you have other ideas that would help us spread the word about our grassroots informational organization and website, send them to us at info@WeLoveMillburn.com

And in case you missed it on the front page, below is our mission statement and reason for being.

Who Loves Millburn?

WeLoveMillburn.com is composed of hundreds of concerned residents from the Millburn/Short Hills community who have come together for one reason. We want to be better informed about the decisions being made that affect the future of our town.

During 2005 and 2006, critical issues face the township that will have long lasting effects on our educational system, town government, local business district, property taxes and the community as a whole. WeLoveMillburn.com will provide residents with regular updates on all of these issues so you can make informed decisions when it comes time to vote or make your voices heard.

Our mission is to both provide information and encourage all residents to vote. Whether you have recently moved to town, or have lived here like some for several generations, we join together in a positive spirit of informing one another about what is happening, what is not happening and what is possible. We are all neighbors and this is our town.

You can email us at info@WeLoveMillburn.com with any specific questions you or your neighbors and friends might have. We would like to respond to your questions but we also would appreciate your comments and reactions to town issues we may have covered or have not covered yet. We're a team. Give us your help.
