The Millburn school budget passed in a close vote.

Many residents, including members of our group, will continue to raise awareness within the community regarding how our precious tax dollars are spent.

Millburn, NJ — April 16, 2008 — For all we pay in taxes, the community is very concerned that we get the best value for our students. There is a growing body of parents who feel that they have had to accept too many compromises for their school children. We spend as much per student as other comparable districts, yet we seem to have more crowding, older buildings, less technology and other limited resources. Parents want those gaps closed and we felt this budget didn’t do it.

While the budget passed, many parents with school children are asking for more careful scrutiny as are residents with children out of the school system and residents who have not had children in the school system.
